Injection Molding Service

Custom Injection Molding Services

Injection molding is an efficient manufacturing process where liquid plastic resin is injected into a metal mold cavity, cools, and solidifies to form a precise plastic part. Known for its low material waste and low per-part cost, injection molding is ideal for large-scale production and widely used across industries like medical devices, consumer goods, and automotive.

At GHXLD, we specialize in creating molds from epoxy, aluminum, and steel, each offering unique benefits. Our team ensures that the most suitable mold type is selected to optimize results for each specific project.

Our Custom Injection Molding Services

Injection Moulding

The process by which thermoplastic particles are heated to a molten state and then injected into a mold cavity by means of pressure, where the plastic cools and solidifies to form a plastic product of the desired shape

包覆成型

Overmolding combines different plastic materials by molding one over another, enhancing functionality, aesthetics, and grip, while reducing assembly time and costs.

嵌件成型

Insert molding encases a pre-set insert with plastic, merging metal and plastic, enhancing strength, simplifying assembly, and ensuring precision integration.

Liquid silicon rubber

Our liquid silicone rubber (LSR) molding process produces custom prototypes and end-use production parts in 15 days or less. We use aluminum molds that offer cost-efficient tooling and accelerated manufacturing cycles, and stock various grades and durometers of LSR materials.

Why Do Plastic Injection Molds Cost So Much?

Producing high-quality plastic parts relies on using a meticulously crafted mold. Plastic injection molds are built from precisely machined components, often made from premium metals like aircraft-grade aluminum or hardened steel. These molds are created by highly skilled professionals known asmold makers,” who have invested years, if not decades, in perfecting their craft.

Mold makers require advanced, high-cost tools to do their work, including specialized software, CNC machines, tooling, and precision fixtures. The time needed to complete a plastic injection mold varies from a few days to several weeks, depending on the mold’s complexity and size.

How Injection Molding Plastic Works?

First, plastic pellets are fed into a heated barrel where they are melted into a liquid. This molten plastic is then injected into a mold shaped like the desired part. The mold, made up of two tightly clamped halves, holds up to the pressure of the injection process.

Once the mold is filled, cooling begins. As the plastic cools, it solidifies into the shape of the mold. Proper cooling is essential to prevent issues like warping or shrinkage. After the plastic has fully hardened, the mold opens, and the finished part is ejected with the help of pins or other ejection methods.

This cycle repeats quickly and consistently, enabling manufacturers to produce large volumes of identical parts with minimal material waste. Injection molding is ideal for making complex parts and is used across industries, including automotive, electronics, and consumer goods.

In summary, injection molding is a cost-effective and efficient solution for creating precise plastic parts at scale, making it an essential process in modern manufacturing.
